The economic impact on criminal organizations due to the seizure of clandestine laboratories is 14 thousand 528 million pesos.

Two months into the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, reported that 57.9 tons of drugs have been seized, including 415 thousand 309 fentanyl pills, which he said means that the same number of young people will be free from falling into the consumption of this “deadly drug.”

In the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum this Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, Omar García Harfuch highlighted that from October 1 to December 1, 5 thousand 333 people have been arrested for high-impact crimes; 57.9 tons of drugs have been seized, in addition to 415,309 fentanyl pills, as well as 2,471 firearms seized.

He said that the seizure of drugs is equivalent to more than 50 million doses that will not reach the streets, preventing these substances from destroying families and communities.

“The seized fentanyl pills represent more than 415 thousand young people free from falling into the consumption of this deadly drug,” he stressed.

He added that getting these weapons off the streets means less violence, less capacity for criminal organizations to use force, and more peace of mind for Mexican families.

“For the Government of Mexico, these actions are designed to protect families and build peace in our country,” he said.

The Secretary of Security commented that to combat drug production, 43 clandestine laboratories for the production of methamphetamines have been dismantled and dismantled in the states of Guanajuato, Guerrero, Michoacán, Querétaro, and Sinaloa.
