The sale and consumption of alcohol will be expanded in the tourist area of Mazatlán by 2024

Mazatlan Sinaloa. – During the Ordinary Council Session No. 51 held this Thursday afternoon, the building body of the Mazatlán City Council approved an opinion to extend the hours of sale and consumption of alcohol in establishments in the tourist area for the coming months.

María Esther Juárez Nelson, president of the Tourism and Commerce Commission of the municipality of Mazatlán, announced the schedules and tours that will be expanded for the months of January, February and March 2024 at the request of Canaco Servytur and Canirac.

“In addition, the authorization is from two hours established by the regulation to one hour more for establishments located in the tourist area and Historic Center, leaving the tourist area as follows from 23 hours to 2 hours daily. Restaurants in all types, nightclubs from 2 hours to 4 hours daily. Bars from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Supermarkets from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Second, that this extension will be valid during the months of January, February and March of 2024.”

With the extension of the hours for the sale and consumption of alcohol in establishments in the tourist area of Mazatlán, the importance of this sector was taken into account because within the three months of duration it includes some festivities such as Carnival, in which tourism has a great rebound with the flow of visitors.

In addition, the opinion indicates that establishments with the sale and consumption of alcohol that are not in the tourist area may extend their hours if they wish, as long as they approach the Mayor’s Office to have control of the places that are open. will adhere to the expansion.
