A spill of more than 4 billion pesos during the holiday Christmas season is expected in Mazatlán

Martín Ochoa López, head of Sedectur, said that in terms of hotel occupancy, some lodging centers estimate to reach 100 percent demand, the rest above 80 percent.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- With the start of the holiday season, it is estimated that the port of Mazatlán will receive an economic benefit of more than 4 billion pesos, according to what was declared by some business chambers, said Martín Ochoa López.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Fisheries in the municipality explained that it would be commercial establishments, event halls, as well as restaurants that will mainly benefit due to the high consumption carried out by Mazatlan families on the occasion of the December festivities.

In terms of hotel occupancy, the municipal official reported that there will be some lodging centers that reach up to 100 percent in reservations during the weekend, while some others could perceive a demand greater than 80 percent.
