Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The shooting attack that occurred on the Mazatlán-Culiacán highway at kilometer 10 near El Habal, left one person dead and another person was wounded by a gunshot, who drove to Sábalo Cerritos Avenue and he took a car that took him to a gas station next to a restaurant on Camarón Sábalo Avenue, and they took him to a local hospital.
According to the first reports, the couple came in a Ford Ranger truck with license plates from the State of Mexico, coming from the city of Culiacán.
At the height of where they are building a bridge that crosses the two lanes of the highway, a sedan vehicle was allegedly paired with them and began shooting at them, fatally wounding the co-pilot and wounding the driver in the neck, who did not stopped his march and entered the city through Mario Arturo Huerta Avenue, where he managed to reach the roundabout on Sábalo Cerritos Avenue, where he lowered the second Marina bridge and climbed the central median along the north-south lane.
There, an older adult who was identified at the scene as Alfonso “N”, 56 years old, died while the driver called the emergency number to report the attack and where they asked him to come closer to make contact with the authorities and paramedics.
It was reported that from that place he took a vehicle belonging to an acquaintance and made an interception near the gas station located on Camarón Sábalo Avenue, next to a well-known restaurant. There he was supported by members of the Ministerial Police and paramedics who took him to a local hospital.
The elderly person, who was wearing an orange shirt and jeans, was left without vital signs in the passenger seat, wounded with a firearm.
There, expert and investigative personnel came to carry out the legal procedures before ordering the funeral home on duty to remove the body to be taken to the Forensic Medical Service to perform the legal autopsy and be delivered to his family.
It was reported that expert and investigation personnel would go to the highway to verify the site of the attack and to collect the shell casings that were left scattered at the scene.
