At least 350 pilgrimages that will include thousands of people will be part of the Guadeloupan celebrations in Puerto Vallarta.
The above was announced by the priest of the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe and San José, Arturo Arana, who reported the details of the dozenary in this city.
From December 1 to 12, at least 350 pilgrimages are expected from parishioners who have come on foot to see the brown virgin in this city for more than a century.
These pilgrimages are made up of parishioners from this city and its surroundings, mainly workers in the tourism sector as well as families and sister communities, the parish priest explained.
Within this centenary, a Guadalupana serenade is also scheduled as well as the arrival of the torch with the race that will begin from Mexico City.
“In the Catholic Church we are celebrating an event that seeks ways to respond to the needs of men and women from the Christian faith,” the priest highlighted, pointing out that these processions call for “unity, dialogue and reconciliation.”
It is noteworthy that in 2018 the Guadalupana festivals of Puerto Vallarta were named cultural and material heritage of the state for materializing the collective identity of the municipality, being an annual festival that has been transmitted through generations and that has endured to this day as a popular practice.
