The Municipal Drinking Water Board maintains the maneuvers to fully provide the supply in the city
Mazatlán, Sin.- The Municipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage of Mazatlán (Jumapam) is working on different fronts to recover the production of drinking water and restore the supply both in the rural area and in the city, after it was suspended due to the impact of the intense rains of Tropical Storm Norma.
The water board reported that production at the Miravalles water treatment plant was paralyzed since Monday due to high levels of turbidity and to guarantee the quality of the water, but around 9:00 p.m., the re-pumping of the Tecomate de Siqueros and the plant was reactivated.
He added that with this work it was possible to recover 100 percent of the operation by 6:00 a.m. this Tuesday, that is, they are already producing the 500 liters per second that it usually makes drinkable, but the supply has not been fully restored.
Given the deficiency, the Jumapam distribution coordination issued a notice to inform that in order to recover 100 percent supply in the area of Pradera Dorada, Valles del Ejido, Villa Verde, Villa de las Flores, Genaro Estrada, Villas del Sol and Alarcón, a valve movement was made in Tank 5000.
These maneuvers will cause the service to the northern zone to be suppressed, from Prados del Sol to Cerritos, and the period of impact will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Regarding the Horcones water treatment plant, he added that it is working with normal production, of 1,900 liters per second, so no shortage has been reported in its area of influence, which includes the Villa Unión administration.
