Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The National Water Commission (Conagua) began reconstruction work on the irrigation canal that broke after the torrential rains of Hurricane “Nora”
, which lowered the flow of water that feeds the two water treatment plants of the Jumapam and simultaneously lower the supply to the city from Tuesday and during the next three days, announced Luis Gerardo Núñez Gutiérrez.
The manager of the Municipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage of Mazatlán assigned responsibility for the low production of water in the port to the National Water Commission, after it did not give prior notice of the works.
“The canal that broke in the Nora meteor is being repaired and it occurs to them today to repair it, that the repair is completely in the hands of Conagua and we will have a low water production that will reach the two plants , both Miravalles and Los Horcones, is a problem that is very foreign to the Municipal Board of Drinking Water of Mazatlán ”.
The official regretted that the federal agency has not informed Jumapam in advance about the start of the works, to take precautions and in turn notify users, who are directly affected since it will be three days with a low supply.
