The head of the Tourist Attention and Protection Center comments that little by little the day is approaching when the cruise ships will spend the night in Mazatlan.
MAZATLÁN.- With the passage of time, the city of Mazatlán continues to grow and, therefore, strengthens itself in tourism, which allows firm steps to be taken in terms of shipping tourism or cruises in the entity, as Astrid announced. Macías Fregoso, director of the Tourist Assistance and Protection Center ( CAPTA ).
He mentioned that most of the tourist boats have extended their stay, going from 4:00 p.m. when they usually set sail, until 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., which is close to the ships deciding to spend the night in the destination soon. , which continues to be more attractive to visitors every day.
Macías Fregoso commented that it is already beginning to be seen that cruise ships extend their stay and set sail at 9:00 p.m., which is a positive for everyone in Mazatlan.
“This is very positive, because well, if they are already being extended right now, probably some of the next arrivals will contemplate spending the night here in the port,” she said.
The official expressed that this is more positive for the destination, although it is also a great challenge that implies that there is more attention from the authorities to offer security, services and the best of faces in the “Pearl of the Mexican Pacific”.
He commented that, in this sense, the coordination that exists between the entities involved, such as the municipal and state governments, has been very important.
He added that the fact that Mazatlan will soon host the international meeting of the FCCA ( Caribbean-Florida Cruise Association ), at the end of next year, is also a great achievement for the tourist city, which no longer only seeks to attract visitors from sun and beach, but also to all those who are looking for a cultural alternative with rich gastronomy amenities.
