Mazatlán.- The Municipal Coordinator of Civil Protection, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum announced that until 06:00 hours, the rain recorded during the early hours of this Sunday was approximately 85 millimeters accumulated.

He indicated that the precipitation lasted five hours continuously, during which time the security, rescue, and assistance corporations attended to 22 reports, in addition to providing mobility support to around 380 people.

He also said that in a preventive manner, partial cuts were made to roads that had high water levels, including Camarón Sábalo avenue, Insurgentes, La Marina, Reforma, Cruz Lizárraga, Sábalo Cerritos, Rigodanza, Libramiento 2, Carretera Internacional al Norte, Santa Rosa, Internacional Street, and Gabriel Leyva.

Among the damages, the overflow of canals was recorded in the El Toreo, Jabalines, Jacarandas, Villa Verde expansion, and Hogar del Pescador neighborhoods, where the largest flooding occurred.

He added that at 06:00 hours, all the canals and roads were already in normal conditions.

For his part, the Secretary of Municipal Public Security, Commissioner Simón Malpica Hernández, mentioned that among the support granted by the police officers, there is the care provided to the occupants of five vehicles that were stranded in the Pradera Dorada, Valles del Ejido, Sánchez Célis, Alameda, and Francisco Villa, who were transferred to safe areas.

The preventive elements also went to a home in Pradera Dorada 4, where a woman and her 3 children were supported with transportation after the tin roof of the house fell; while in La Joya, attention was given to a neighbor who reported that the water entered her house.
