Mazatlán.- The rains recorded on Friday night in the port of Mazatlán, caused the land to sink in Lomas de Mazatlán, where a sinkhole was formed that during the first hours of this Saturday is already being attended by the Municipal Public Works Directorate.
Luis Gerardo Núñez, head of the unit, said that the sinking, whose extension is approximately 1.50 by 1.50 meters, was due to poor soil compaction, in addition to the age of said space, so it will be attended to as soon as possible. avoid accidents.
“It is earth like a ‘chaute’ type that has been filtering through what is the cobblestone, and a hole of 1.50 by 1.50 was made in its entirety, almost square; and what we are going to do is fill it with stone one part and with ballast, compact well and lay the cobblestone already with cement, so that this issue does not happen again,” he said.
The repair of this space was attended to in the first part this Saturday, and will be completed in its entirety on Monday, according to the information provided by the Public Works Department of the Mazatlán City Council .
