Lightning, thunder and rain! Today 12 municipalities of Sinaloa will feel the effects of Hurricane Estelle

According to the National Weather Service, rainfall accumulations of between 75 and 150 millimeters are expected, so take precautions and do not go out without protection.

Sinaloa.- Intense rains accompanied by electrical storms and winds, are expected this Monday, July 18 over Sinaloa, caused by the passage of hurricane “Estelle”, as well as the Mexican monsoon that has reinforced the entry of humidity.

In its forecast notice for this Monday, July 18, the National Weather Service highlights a start to the week with a mild morning atmosphere with a partly cloudy sky, as happened on Sunday in Mazatlan, which was surprised by persistent rain due to a storm that slowly it has been moving to other municipalities and that at night and early today, it affected the center of Sinaloa.

The climate organization highlights the record of gusty winds of between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour, waves of 1.5 to 2.5 on the coasts and rainfall that could range from 75 to 150 millimeters accumulated.

The National Meteorological Department details that there will be 11 municipalities: El Fuerte, Choix, Sinaloa, Salvador Alvarado, Angostura, Navolato, Culiacán, Mocorito, Badiraguato, Cosalá and Elota, under these conditions and that several hours with this impulse.

However, it is also expected that at noon the activity of both winds, showers of rain, and clouds will decrease, giving way to heat that could be around 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, with a very high percentage of humidity that will increase the thermal sensation and solar radiation of 8 points. 

In addition, it is highlighted that tomorrow, Tuesday, the rainy conditions will increase significantly, so we must not lower our guard, and continue with preventive measures, even more so if you live in a low area.
