The municipal, state, and federal authorities declared themselves ready to carry out the most important event in Sinaloa.
MAZATLAN. – With a strong deployment in the Health and Public Safety protocols, the port declares itself ready to carry out the International Carnival of Mazatlan 2022, where they have confirmed the presence of 1,022 security and citizen protection elements from the three levels of government.
The Municipal Civil Protection Coordinator, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, was in charge of officially presenting the Operations Plan for the port’s biggest festival that will take place from Thursday, February 24 to March 1.
“Each of the actions will be coordinated by the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination, which will be the direct link with the other levels of government and institutions of Public Security and attention to emergencies,” said Ruiz Gastélum.
He stressed that they will have a state of general force that will be comprised of 1,022 elements that is made up of 223 units of different characteristics.
The Coordinator reported that everything is based on a legal framework, with Municipal Civil Protection being the direct link in the operations plan that will begin at 3:00 p.m. on February 24, and will be carried out until March 2, in the early morning, which is when the party ends.
“There will be an Operations base in the Sister Cities Park (Master Base), and from that point the C4 will be managed to ensure that everything is achieved in terms of sanitary protocols, detention of those who do not comply with the Police Edict or any other complaint,” he added.
Biosecurity measures were also announced for entry to massive events where there will be sanitizing booths, the application of antibacterial gel, temperature taking, and the correct use of face masks.
Meanwhile, the Carnival parade, as well as the Naval Combat, for the first time will have Del Mar Avenue as its main entrances, through the streets will be Belisario Domínguez, Benito Juárez, Gutiérrez Nájera, Rotarismo, Flamingos, Rafael Domínguez, Río Piaxtla, Lola Beltrán, Insurgentes avenue and Rafael Buelna avenue.
The corporations that are going to participate are Sedena, Semar, National Guard, Municipal Civil Protection, State Civil Protection, Municipal Public Security Secretariat, Sanitary Jurisdiction Number 5, CAPTA, Green Angels, Roads and Transportation and the State Attorney General’s Office, Attorney General’s Office of the Republic and the National Intelligence Center.

The detonation of 2.2 tons of gunpowder is estimated during the Naval Combat, which is estimated to take place at 23:00.

There will be a total of six access gates from Gate 3, 3A, Gate 4, Gate 5, Gate 6 and Gate 7, this being VIP access for people. It will have a maximum capacity of 20,000 people and at the end of each event all entrances will be exits, increasing doors 1 and 2 by two.
