The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association trusts that the destination will recover its inertia and the drop in infections will give tourists confidence to visit soon.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- As Covid-19 infections drop , occupancy in the hotels on Del Mar Avenue begins to pick up, said José Ramón Manguart Sánchez.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association commented that hotel occupancy on weekends registers occupancy levels of 50%.

” On weekends, occupancy reaches 50%, and the hope is that as the numbers of Covid-19 infections tend to decrease, the destination can recover its tourist activity,” he said.

Manguart Sánchez explained that the soccer game between Mazatlán FC and América on Wednesday caused the hotel sector to register occupancy of 40%, an important number to be during the week.

“ The topic of soccer helps because the passions and everything that it generates and there is behind it, because it is a lot, right now the occupations have been around 40% and that the pandemic is going down, because it begins to generate confidence again, surely that the inertia that Mazatlan had in a couple of weeks, God willing, change the traffic light, because it will be reactivated again, ”he said.
