Mazatlan Entrepreneurs propose projects to Rocha and Torruco, including a funicular in the Lighthouse

The state president stressed that his government will generate confidence for investments in tourism.

MAZATLÁN.- Governor Rubén Rocha Moya held a meeting with hotel businessmen and tourist service providers from the port of Mazatlán in order to increase tourism for the Pearl of the Pacific.

Accompanied by the federal Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués, who is on a working tour of the entity, the state president detailed some projects that are being analyzed to see the feasibility of their development, one of them is the installation of a vehicle funicular, which is a kind of railway used to climb slopes, this in order to transport tourists to the lighthouse.

“I have already seen a businessman who is Carlos Peralta, he has worked in Mexico City, I asked them to do a project for me to discuss it with the mayor and then with you… There are many things to do that pay off for us so that the product we offer as a tourist product is as attractive as possible”, highlighted the governor.

Another of the projects mentioned by Rocha was that of a regional cruise, of which he mentioned that he had already had some meetings with the president of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, Michelle Paige in La Paz, Baja California, in order to promote this idea.

The governor stressed that this cruise would sail through the Sea of ​​Cortez and reach the Marias Islands, however, he reported that Michelle Paige gave him more ideas about the trips for the boats which could be boarded in the ports of Mazatlan and from there make tours to various destinations in Baja California, Guaymas, Topolobampo, San Blas and the Marías Islands.

Rocha also stressed that, like President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he is willing to protect the contributions of those who seek to invest in tourism.

“Generating trust among businessmen is the key, investing in it and us working, first to have a rule of law that protects investment, a lot has already been done, this government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador has shown that it is interested in calling investment and protect it,” he said.

Also present at the event were the municipal president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benites Torres, the secretary of Tourism of Mexico Miguel Torruco Marqués, the secretary of Tourism of the State of Sinaloa, Rosario Torres Noriega, the secretary of the Mazatlán city council Edgar Augusto González Zatarain, as well as businessmen from the hotel industry and service providers.
