Guy Bolduc, the Canadian who saw in Mazatlan a paradise to spend his retirement

He lives in Mazatlan since 2007, for him touring the city on skates is his favorite pastime.

MAZATLAN.- Over the years, the transformation of the port has been taking place in different areas, something that has achieved that not a few tourists stay in the port due to many factors, including the weather, its gastronomy and everything that surrounds the city, this is the case of Guy Bolduc, a Canadian who has lived here in the port since 2007. 

Maybe by his name you don’t locate Guy, but those who locate him remember him on skates along the boardwalk, at any time of the day, enjoying the landscapes that destiny teaches, either in the mornings or in the evenings.  

The native of Montreal, Canada, spoke to Punto MX, who told us how at 74 years of age he continues to stay in shape through sports and why he stayed to settle in Mazatlan. 

“What I liked about Mazatlan is that even a poor person feels like a millionaire; I have been retired since 2007 and I live here, it is a city with a lot of sports, there is everything, Triathlon, Marathon and others, I love spending my life here”, said Guy.  

He expressed that in his youth he was a professional hockey player, that’s why his passion for skating, which is something simple for him, besides that he manages to keep fit and incidentally has fun exercising.  

“My first ten years I skated three times a day from 9:00 to 11:00, from 15:00 to 16:00, and 18:00 to 21:00, respectively, I managed to do 30 kilometers, currently I do it 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. nothing else and at night I go to Central Park for an hour and a half to keep fit,” he said.  

He pointed out that the climate of Mazatlan is perfect to live in, in addition, he added, the growth of Mazatlan is very impressive with condominiums everywhere, something that will give more importance to the destination that has it all.  

Finally, he added that it is a city paradise, that’s why he fell in love with this tourist destination; He has traveled all over the world, but in Mazatlan, he says he found the place to spend his last years.
