MAZATLÁN.- Sinaloa did well during the 2021 Tourism Tianguis, indeed, it exceeded its expectations, thus achieving 607 business appointments with airlines, wholesale operators, agencies and travel agents, said the Secretary of Tourism, María del Rosario Torres Noriega.
He expressed that one of the objectives was to return to the subject of Culiacán as a destination for congresses and conventions, to detonate it to make it the ideal destination for this segment in the state, taking advantage of the fact that it was the first edition of the Tianguis Turístico, where buyers for the market participated. tourism meetings with the presence of national presidents of professional associations in this segment.
“Our destinations continue to consolidate, such is the case of our air connectivity, with the negotiations carried out with the airlines during the tianguis, the forecast that the air seats for Mazatlan are fully recovered, including the international seats for the next season. wintry, ”he declared.
The state official emphasized that the cases of success reported were by American Airlines, in addition to the return of WestJet, even, in the meeting they held in Merida, they committed to a new route to Toronto, also confirming the return to Calgary, both from Canada. .
In the case of national routes, VivaAerobus highlighted the good results between the routes from Chihuahua and Ciudad Juárez to Mazatlán, despite the land connectivity that exists with the Mazatlán-Durango highway.
“Despite the difficult global situation of the pandemic where tourism had the greatest negative repercussions, this 2021 edition of the Tourism Tianguis was a great success for Sinaloa, where expectations exceed the positioning of Sinaloa tourist destinations by the agencies online, like Bestway and PriceTravel, ”he added.
