Alert in Sinaloa: 108 cases of dengue are registered in a week

Mazatlán, Sin.-Although just last week the State Secretariat of Health announced that in Sinaloa 504 cases of dengue have been confirmed so far in 2021, the Federal Health Secretariat, in its report of the Epidemiological Panorama of Dengue 2021 week 44, indicates that there are 612 confirmed cases in the entity.

With this, Sinaloa occupies, at the national level, the third place of the states with the highest incidence this year, only below Veracruz, with 786, and Coahuila, with 713.

Of the 612 cases, 393 are non-serious cases, 178 are dengue with warning signs and only 41 are severe dengue.

Compared to last year to the same date, there is an increase of 194 cases, since there were only 418 confirmed cases. In total, in 2020, 728 cases were confirmed.

What stands out in both years is the fatality rate of 0%, as there are no deaths from this cause.

Sinaloa also ranks third in the states with the highest incidence of dengue by state, with an incidence rate of 19.57 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The first place is occupied by Morelos, with 24.18, and is followed by Coahuila, with an incidence of 22.55 cases.

The State Health Secretariat puts the municipalities of Salvador Alvarado and Mocorito in red light, accumulating 42 and 31 cases of non-serious dengue, respectively; Sinaloa municipality and Badiraguato in yellow focus, accumulating 29 and 16 cases, respectively.

Actions against dengue are currently being carried out in Ahome, Guasave, Salvador Alvarado, Culiacán, Mazatlán and Escuinapa.
