MAZATLÁN.- The Aquatic Rescue Squad alerted the Mazatlan population and visitors about the high waves, which appear yesterday and will continue today in the port, as well as return currents.

The commander of the ESA of the Municipal Police, Gustavo Espinoza Bastidas, explained that the beach area from Avenida Del Mar and Insurgentes towards Punta Cerritos, these conditions have been observed, so red flags are kept to prevent bathers from entering.

He commented that because of this it was necessary to take extreme measures in Playa Norte and in the area of ​​the Pueblo Bonito hotel, as well as in Cerritos.


“Now and tomorrow we are going to have high waves, yes, the waves, the maximum will be two and a half meters high, the tide will be going down slowly until 4:30 in the afternoon, yes then, right now what The return currents are going to affect us a lot, ”he said.

Regarding stingrays, hedgehogs, or “aguamalas” jellyfish, Espinoza Bastidas added that so far no events of this type have been reported.
