Police will monitor cemeteries in Mazatlan for Day of the Dead

Mazatlán, Sinaloa ..- For the celebration of the Day of the Dead, in Mazatlán the operation and the biosecurity protocols that will be implemented in the cemeteries are ready, said the coordinator of Civil Protection, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum.

He mentioned that, within the framework of the new normality, they will again seek to avoid crowds, for which he recommended going to the cemeteries for the cleaning and rehabilitation of the tombs from the weekend. 

“Speaking of a time no more than 30 minutes per visitor, 4 people per family who will be attending to leave flowers. Musicians will not be allowed inside, nor will the consumption of food or drinks be allowed inside. All those graves that require maintenance or cleaning, it is time for them to do so before the visit takes place ”.

For this operation, they contemplate 300 elements integrated by Municipal Public Security, Civil Protection, Mayor’s Office and Public Services, especially from the direction of Cemetaries, said the coordinator of PC in Mazatlán.

He added that with regard to the flowers, the placement of water in the vases will not be allowed, to avoid the proliferation of flies, so the recommendation is to bring artificial plants

Among the biosafety protocols, the use of face masks is established at all times and the temperature is taken when entering the pantheons; Chairs, tables or beach umbrellas will not be allowed and masses or celebrations of worship will not be allowed.
