But who is Sofia Trejo? What did she do?

Sofia Trejo Lemus is a Marine Food Engineer and although she was born in Hidalgo, she is in Mazatlan by choice and heart; You will identify her easier because she is the promoter of the biobarda, a barrier made of pet products in the form of a net, which works so that the garbage that circulates through the Estero del Infiernillo does not reach the sea.

She has managed to form a network of allies ranging from fishermen, young volunteers, and other civil associations that led her to create her own MazConciencia association.

This bio-fence, which was placed for the first time in 2019, in its rainy days, has managed to concentrate more than 24 tons of garbage, which are removed, bagged, and taken to the dump.

Over time, he expanded his vision and proposed the installation of deposits of cigarette butts on the beaches, those that you can still see in some places, which have already been replicated in other beaches in the state.
