Mazatlán, Sin.- At the official start of the 2021-2022 school year, in Sinaloa there is a record of 4,164 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in minors between 0 and 19 years of age, as well as 30 deaths, of which 4 are infants from 0 to 4 years old, 6 in the range of 5 to 9 years of age, 8 deaths from 10 to 14 years and 12 deaths from 15 to 19 years, according to information updated by the General Directorate of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, as of September 1, 2021.

On its official website, the federal agency has the general report of 67,950 confirmed cases, 80,632 negatives, 9,097 suspects, 7,999 deaths, 50,743 recovered and 1,184 active, which have accumulated in the been during the 553 days of the pandemic since the first case of coronavirus.

Statistics show that in Sinaloa 465 minors between 0 and 4 years old have been infected, 480 cases between 5 and 9 years old, 923 confirmed between 10 and 14 years old, and 2,296 between 15 and 19 years old.

Of the total of infected minors in the entity, 6.7% have required hospitalization, that is, a total of 279 cases.

The population most infected with Covid-19 in Sinaloa are people between 30 and 39 years old with 14,517 cases, followed by those between 20 and 29 years old with 13,966 cases, those between 30 and 39 years old with 13 thousand 568 confirmed and those of 60 and older, with 12 thousand 306.

Regarding lethality, the population with the most deaths are those in the range of 60 and over, since of the total infected, 43.1% die; secondly, there are people from 50 to 59 years of age, with a 14.7% mortality, and those from 40 to 49, with a rate of 5.8%.

The age ranges with the least death are those under 0 to 19 years of age, with 0.7% fatality, followed by those from 20 to 29 years, with 0.8%, and those from 30 to 39, with 2.4%.

So far in the pandemic, the entity has had to be hospitalized for Covid-19 for presenting complications 8,220 elderly people over 60 years old, 3,056 people between 50 and 59 years old, 2,286 from the range of 40 to 49 years of age, 1,339 from 30 to 39, and 650 young people from 20 to 29 years of age.
