Emergency zone declared in 7 municipalities of Sinaloa

Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel reported that they expect this weekend the emerging support for people affected by cyclone “Nora” 

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The declaration of an emergency zone for seven municipalities of Sinaloa has already been approved by the Federation, reported Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel during a damage verification tour in Potrerillos del Norote and Caimanes, in the municipality of Elota .

Ordaz Coppel confirmed that the request for the declaration of a disaster area is also under analysis and they hope that its approval will be expedited so that there will be resources for the repair of roads. 

The state president stressed that the State Government has supported various families with food pantries, mainly through the Sinaloa DIF System and they are coordinating with the municipalities to see the primary needs.

Confirms the approved declaration of Security Secretariat

The National Civil Protection Coordination issued today an Emergency Declaration in the State of Sinaloa, for the municipalities of Escuinapa, Elota and San Ignacio due to Severe Rain that occurred on August 29, 2021; for the municipality of Culiacán due to Severe Rain that occurred on August 30, 2021; for the municipality of Rosario due to Severe Rain that occurred on August 29, 2021, and Strong Winds on August 29 and 30, 2021; for the municipality of Mazatlán due to Severe Rain and Strong Winds that occurred on August 29 and 30, 2021; and for the municipality of Concordia due to Severe Rain that occurred on August 28 and 29, 2021 and Strong Winds on August 29 and 30, 2021.

With this action, the resources of the Program for the Attention of Emergencies due to Natural Threats are activated.

Based on this Declaration, requested by the state government, the authorities will have resources to meet the food, shelter and health needs of the affected population.
