Don grew up in Mitchellville, IA working on the farms. Later, he completed an apprenticeship to become a career Iron Worker and union member of Lo. 67, in Des Moines, IA. He enjoyed camping, movies, and riding his Harley. Later in life, he was able to retire and move to Isla de la Piedra, Mexico. He loved the ocean and was able to live the remainder of his life on the sandy beaches. With the help of others on the island, he played Santa for the children of the island and rode around on his “sled” delivering bags of goodies. Don’s presence could fill a whole room and he never met a stranger. He was a genuine, good person to those he encountered throughout his life. He will truly be missed by those that knew him. With Don, you can’t help but “remember the good times.” SKOL!
