Mazatlan roads will be filled with new crosswalks/speedbumps

The mayor commented that the objective is for drivers to respect pedestrians and they cross for them

Municipal President Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, reported that the City Council will put crosswalks/speedbumps on all zebra crossings in Mazatlán, such as the one that was placed at the Hotel The Inn in the Golden Zone. The reason is that drivers respect pedestrians and they cross there.

He announced that the crosswalk in the Golden Zone was set by the hotel administration without charging anything to the Commune, but clarified that it is the municipality that is promoting this measure.

On complaints about this type of speed bumps, he replied.

“Well, let them complain, I prefer to defend the passerby than to be run over,” he said.

He made it known that this day he had a meeting with the governor of the state, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, where he said he was happy because Mazatlán has set the example at the national level.

“We are reducing the cases of covid-19, we are the best beach tourist destination with low cases because the action that was taken is helping and many places will follow as an example,” he emphasized.
