The port as a tourist destination is ready to receive shipping lines and also has health conditions, said Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- To deal with the issue of the arrival of cruise ships, and see if really on August 24 of this year 2021 the Carnival shipping line will arrive in Mazatlán, with more than five thousand people in the middle of the third “wave” of the COVID, on the weekend Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel and the elect, Rubén Rocha Moya, will hold a private meeting with people from the FCCA, who are from the cruise association, revealed Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

The municipality assured that the port of Mazatlán is ready, and has the health conditions to receive cruise passengers because the pandemic has been controlled and the number of active cases of the SARS-COV-2 virus has been reduced.

“I think the current governor and the elected governor meet over the weekend to talk with the cruise ship people to make decisions. It is not here, it is outside of Mazatlán ”.

Is Mazatlán ready to receive the cruise ships, mayor?

“Yes of course, because we continue to decline, we remain stable in COVID cases, we continue to be the best in the entire country, the ones with the fewest cases,” he declared.

The mayor said that they will be strict in the protocols to be implemented to prevent new infections, and the best thing is that the shipping lines are demanding the vaccination certificate from the crew, otherwise they will not be able to get on the ship.
