Sinaloa.- It will be from Saturday, July 17 when the increase of 50 cents in public transport in Sinaloa will be applied, maintaining the rate of 3.50 pesos for students and the 50 percent discount for the disabled.

Through a statement, the state government announced the official authorization, within the framework of the recommendation issued by the State Mobility Council.

“It consists of an increase of 50 cents over current rates, according to the application of the percentage of the National Consumer Price Index, calculated and published by the Bank of Mexico for the year 2020,” the statement read.

Even though this update must be carried out annually, according to the Law, last year there was no increase in the cost of the ticket and this update is considered so that the provision of public transport service continues to meet the priority needs of citizens.

The last update that was authorized in Sinaloa was in July 2019, two years ago, when it was 1.50 pesos; however, this year, it will be 50 cents as a support to the economy of users.

Throughout this administration, it has been a priority to work together with the concessionaires in the modernization of public transport to offer a quality service to users, which has made it possible to replace around 500 units in Culiacán, Mazatlán, Los Mochis, Guasave and Guamúchil.
