According to the mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, 43 vessels will arrive at the port of Mazatlán in August.
The general director of the Comprehensive Port Administration (API) of Mazatlán, Mariel Aquileo Ancona Infanzón, reported that they are getting ready for the arrival of tourist cruises.
Ancona Infanzón said that the boats would arrive at the end of August.
The API leader explained that the sanitary measures indicated by the state authorities will be taken, such as the use of face masks, taking the temperature, avoiding crowds, among others.
He revealed that last Tuesday they had a meeting with various authorities to refine the final details.
“The beginning of the arrival of the cruise ships does not depend on us, it depends on the cruise lines, but we already have everything prepared,” said Ancona Infanzón.
According to the president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, there will be 43 cruise ships that will arrive in the city in August.
The municipality has also carried out improvement activities, such as the painting of the bicycle lanes, the white and yellow lines, as well as the strengthening of garbage collection.
Workers in the tourism sector are the main beneficiaries of the arrival of foreign visitors.
Another sector is the transporters, mainly the aurigueros and lung drivers, who are in charge of walking the cruise passengers around the boardwalk. Tourists visit the port restaurants.
