The demonstration will start from the Monument to the Mazatlan Woman and will culminate in the monument to Lola Beltrán, on the avenue of the same name, on the corner with Avenida Del Mar
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- For the peaceful demonstration to commemorate International Women’s Day, next March 8, the families of victims of femicides will lead the march.
According to the organizing committee, the demonstration will start from the Monument to the Mazatleca Woman and will culminate at the monument to Lola Beltrán, on the avenue of the same name, on the corner with Avenida Del Mar.
The contingent will be headed by relatives of victims of femicides; followed by mothers with babies and women with disabilities; a contingent of young women; batucada and mixed contingency.
Last Years March
A young girl climbed to the top of the Monument to the Mazatleca Woman and placed a green scarf, as a symbol of the struggle, which, according to those who participated, seeks to achieve substantive equality, equity in opportunities, eliminate the patriarchy system and no more violence against women and girls.
Once the march ended, other scheduled activities followed, a “performance” (artistic show) with songs alluding to the movement, stage performances and activities led by boys and girls.
