Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Despite being the high season due to the December holidays and after months of having reactivated the port’s economy, the situation for beach vendors has not improved, said Jorge Luis Ríos Rubio, Secretary General of Federal Zone.

“It is very quiet, we are only surviving the weekends that there are a little more people and it is pure Mexican tourism that is visiting the Mazatlan beaches,” he reiterated.

Ríos Rubio, said that, although it is the season of foreign tourism, this has not been presented so it is the Mexican who is making them strong and even so the influx is at 40 percent and spends little.

“Mexican people come here to Mazatlan to consume other products and come with few resources and partly they have been buying a vacation package and we understand that the little resource that tourists bring and spend with us well, much better, because before we were worse because we spent a hundred days without working ”, he asserted.

The beach leader trusted that once the Covid 19 vaccine arrives and is applied to Mexicans, its activity will be reactivated a little more.
