It will reduce the water depth in rainfall from 70 to 20 or 10 centimeters, says Juan de Dios Garay

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The director of Municipal Public WorksJuan de Dios Velázquez Garay, reported that the 8 pump stations that were built in the Zona Dorada, are almost ready to run and will decrease floods in the tourism sector when it rains.

He said that due to the equipment and the pumps, said sumps were delivered for their maintenance and operation to the Municipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage, a department that has the capacity and human resources to take charge of them.

“Practically all of them are ready to go. At least 5 pumps must already be in operation he said.

He indicated that the pump stations are designed so that the water depth does not rise as it did every time it rained heavily, mainly in the area where the Conapesca offices are located, where it rose from 60 to 70 centimeters.

“The discharge of water on the avenue made it impossible for vehicular passage on the avenue and generated a big problem for us, the pumps must operate and it does not mean that the street will be dry because the water has to drain into the holding tanks, but it is surmountable for any vehicle that can travel through that area ”, he said.

It should be noted that the investment made in the construction of these 8 stations was 35 million pesos, whose works will allow the rainwater to drain along the Golden Zone of Mazatlán.
