So far this season, two children under 12 years old from Mazatlán and Escuinapa have died as a result of dengue.

Cristian Aldo Muñoz Madrid, director of Prevention and Health Promotion in Sinaloa, announced that to eliminate the dengue aedes aegypti mosquito, fumigation works are carried out mainly in municipalities in the south of the state, an area where the highest cases are registered.

Muñoz Madrid mentioned that dengue is a cyclical disease, since in 2015 there was a significant rebound, a similar panorama that occurs after five years this 2020.

With the fumigation work in colonies and the placement of abate, they hope to reduce the spread of the mosquito in municipalities such as Mazatlán and Escuinapa where between 40 and 50 cases of dengue are registered per week.

The main symptoms of dengue are: headache, body, eyes and fever.

The population is recommended to go immediately in case of presenting any of these symptoms so as not to endanger their health.

When the dengue mosquito grows in clean water accumulated mainly in pots located in the yard, citizens are asked to remove tires, buckets, and all containers that could serve as breeding sites.
