Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas (October 27, 2020).- Together, representatives of the different public order forces agreed to coordinate the security operation for the Halloween and Day of the Dead celebrations, in order to avoid further contagion by Covid-19 among citizens.

The Nuevo Laredo government director, Roberto García Capistrán said that the October 31 operation will begin at 6:00 p.m.

“On the part of the authorities, an operation was determined in the main streets with cuts to circulation, breathalyzers and other measures to prevent the mobility of families and young people who go out these days to celebrate,” he mentioned

“Later, in relation to the celebrations for the Day of the Dead, the municipal and private pantheons will remain closed until November 6,” stressed García Capistrán.

He said that, on November 1 and 2, elements of the State Police and National Guard will carry out tours of these cemeteries to verify that people do not come to visit their deceased.

“Likewise, the municipality is going to establish with those responsible for parks and green areas so that they are closed these days and those that cannot be closed, suspend the electricity service,” he said.

He added that these actions are not coercive, but it is very important that citizens become aware that the risk of contagion from Covid-19 persists and that it can be fatal, so they must continue with the health measures issued and maintain social isolation.
