Saltillo, Coahuila.- The former mayor of Ramos Arizpe from 2010 to 2013, Ramón Oceguera Rodríguez, was apprehended by elements of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for the crime of embezzlement.
According to the information available in this regard, his arrest took place at the Campestre club just outside the state capital of Coahuila, Saltillo, where he was accompanied by the former treasurer Vicente Barreda, who also had an arrest warrant issued for the same crime.
It was based on the investigation of the public accounts of the four years that he was in charge of the Ramos Arizpe City Council that both Ramón and Vicente were identified as allegedly responsible for the crime of embezzlement.
In the next few hours the legal situation of both former public officials will be determined by the corresponding authorities.
