Regional, national and foreign tourists could be observed walking up and down the Malecon and relaxing on the beach.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- After the holiday period, weekends are the days of tourism for the port and despite the fact that the pandemic has not ended, thousands of tourists continue to arrive in the city.

Locals and visitors were spotted walking along the boardwalk, some of them doing physical activity or simply appreciating a beautiful sunset.

The Valentinos photographic parador, Monument to the Fisherman, the Diver and Olas Altas, were some of the busiest places.

On the other hand, hundreds of bathers who came to this tourist strip made Playa Pinitos, Playa Norte and Olas Altas turn yellow at the beach traffic light (which means that those beaches were close to reaching its maximum allowed capacity).

Although preventive measures are maintained, it is already very common to observe in the beach and boardwalk areas where people is not complying with the provisions.

Karina Torres, coordinator of the REDES Operation, reported that last weekend around 2,000 mouth covers had been delivered on the boardwalk and until there is no other indication, the awareness campaign will continue.

“We are moving forward, creating awareness with citizens, working together so that they use the mouth guard in this new normal. We continue with the network operation there is still no deadline,” Karina Torres reported.
