Mazatlan hospital hands over the wrong body to relatives


Mazatlan.- Eduardo Rafael ‘N’ died this Monday due to cardiac arrest in Mazatlán and IMSS staff mistakenly handed over the remains of another person to his family.

The event occurred at the General Hospital of Zone 3 in Mazatlán, where after Eduardo Rafael died of complications from an illness that led to cardiac arrest, the legal proceedings were carried out.


After the procedures, the body was forwarded on Monday morning to the staff of a local funeral home, which collected the body that was handed over to them by IMSS personnel.

Upon arriving at the funeral home, relatives of Eduardo Rafael took care that the body they had been given was not the correct one, so they went to the IMSS to respond for the unfortunate error.

“This is unheard of, how something like this can happen, we bring the pain of having lost our father and that this happens to us, and as if what happened was not enough, they brought us around and until the afternoon we handed over the remains of my father “Claimed the daughter of the deceased.

Throughout the day today, the relatives were waiting for IMSS personnel to resolve the error and it was until the afternoon when they handed over the remains of Eduardo Rafael to carry out their funerals.

The relatives demanded that the Institute take action on the matter and investigate who made the mistake to prevent another family from going through the same and suffering double pain when losing a loved one.
