Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, assured that he did not uncover himself, but came out of the closet, revealing his intentions to go for the Sinaloa governor’s office in the 2021 elections.

In an interview with the media, within the framework of the inauguration of the Social Assistance Center for Adolescents and Women, the mayor defended that he was not “uncovered” and therefore did not attack the Electoral Law of the State of Sinaloa.

“I did not uncover myself, I came out of the closet; in the good sense of the word, not as we colloquially know him, that I certainly respect a lot of the LGBT community. I did not uncover myself, I only said that I had aspirations as any citizen and that they are very legitimate “he clarified.

He acknowledged that he had to found the movement, the Morena party in Mazatlán, and that he is the only mayor who has implemented the Fourth Transformation in the municipality.
