Tourists and local bathers were rescued, one person lost his life

Municipal lifeguards helped a total of 27 people and one of them lost his life on the Walamo beaches

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Elements of the Municipal Police Aquatic Salvage Squadron provided 18 services over the weekend, including multiple rescues to local bathers and tourists who had difficulties getting out of the sea, suffered injuries from marine species, or falls in places bordering the beach area.

In the balance of the services provided this Saturday and Sunday, it is established that 20 people were saved from the sea currents at various points on the beach, including a pregnant woman who only reported fright and fatigue when being rolled over by a wave; a neighbor of the Flores Magón neighborhood died on the beach of El Walamo this Sunday afternoon and was identified as Leonardo “N”, 30 years old, residing in the Flores Magón neighborhood; 3 people were injured by burner, 1 by manta ray; and 2 tourists were injured, one after falling from a recreational game and the other in the Playa Norte park.

The rescued bathers are Durango, Torreón, Ciudad Juárez, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Saltillo, Culiacán and Mazatlan.
