The fate of the Heart of Mexico is preparing for its staged reopening on July 15 under strict health protocols.
San Miguel de Allende, Gto.- San Miguel de Allende reached second place in the list of Best City in the World at the World’s Best Awards 2020 of the international magazine Travel + Leisure.
This is the fourth time that San Miguel de Allende has positioned itself at the top of this world ranking. In addition, the city was also recognized as the second Best City in Mexico, only behind Oaxaca, for the richness of its experiences and the exclusivity of its services.
Likewise, among the 5 Best Hotels in Mexico City there are also three hotels in San Miguel de Allende: Hotel Amparo, topping the list, Hotel Matilda, in second place and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, in position number 4. San Miguel de Allende received the “Safe Travel” seal of approval granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which recognizes the implementation of standardized health and hygiene protocols worldwide. Obtaining this international distinctive consolidates it as an exemplary destination, and joins the municipality’s previous efforts, which created the “Health First” certificates to standardize compliance with the strict security measures imposed on tourist establishments in the city. .

Declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO, San Miguel de Allende is one of the few cities in the world that appears on the list of the World’s Best Awards year after year. Its central location and its vast history, as well as its culture, gastronomy, art and people, are attractions that have made it known as ‘The Heart of Mexico’.

San Miguel de Allende has strictly observed quarantine measures since March, being closed to non-residents in recent months. However, on June 27, it was announced that hotels could begin accepting partially open reservations beginning July 15.

And only those who have all the municipal certificates that guarantee their hygiene measures will be able to open them.
