The city is promoted by the CPTM for being one of the preferred ones in the country.

In September 2007, Mazatlán was considered one of the thirteen wonders of Mexico created by man, a Mexican tourism promotion campaign carried out in 2007 by  TV Azteca and the Council of Tourism Promotion of Mexico (CPTM).

With a coast dotted with islands, a large promenade, 21 kilometers of golden beaches and blue lagoons, this site is really promoted by the CPTM, living up to the nickname; “The Pearl of the Pacific”.

It is not free that Mazatlán was included, first among the four destinations to be promoted by the Mexico brand around the world, explained the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa.

Mazatlán was considered one of the 13 wonders of Mexico created by man, a place that has remained in the last three years.

The municipality has several protected natural areas, one of them is the Cacaxtla Plateau Flora and Fauna Protection Area (APFF), located between the municipalities of Mazatlán and San Ignacio, in the central part, and houses coastal habitats on nearby islands , as well as diverse fauna and flora.
