People insist on entering the beaches of Mazatlán; more than 5 thousand people have already been ‘sent home’ by local authorities.

The main beach entrances are cordoned off and guarded by agents of the Ministry of Public Security, which involves the Lifeguard and Civil Protection Corps.

“We have had reports of people who still insist on going to the beach, we have sent home 5,913 people, ever since the operation began and 12 people had been arrested for resisiting,” said Eloy Ruiz Gastélum, municipal coordinator of Civil Protection.

The surveillance operation for the pandemic in Mazatlán began on April 3 and there is still no conclusion date.

The instruction is simple: nobody enters.

Ruiz Gastélum called on the population to wait longer before using the beaches, since the idea is to avoid the spread of the virus, and the concentration of people in the same point represents one of the highest risks of contagion.

“We are going to continue working, the instruction is the same, this is not over yet, we must stay home and be on the street as little as possible, the beaches are still closed,” concluded the official.
