Due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Municipal Health Committee is permanently installed and in session
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The City Council installed and permanently meets the Municipal Health Committee, and announced the postponement of massive events by authorities and individuals in the city, this as part of the actions against the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
In the meeting that took place on the afternoon of this Tuesday and which was chaired by the Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres and the epidemiologist of the Sanitary Jurisdiction number 6, he assured that so far in Mazatlán there is no case of this disease.
The Chemist Benitez Torres released a series of measures that seek to lessen the economic and social impact in the municipality.
“The health of the Mazatlecos is above any other agenda, and we cannot ignore decisions that can allow us to avoid this growing problem,” he said.
He added that as of tomorrow the activities in the community, sports centers and libraries that depend on the Municipality are suspended, as well as the services of the mobile veterinary unit, medical workshops and DIF assistance centers, and children’s nurseries.
The Municipal President reiterated the recommendations of the Health Sector and the one to avoid the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus:
- Wash your hands thoroughly and often with an alcohol-based disinfectant, or with soap and water.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue when you cough or sneeze, and then throw it away.
- Avoid contact with sick people.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- If you have fever, cough, and shortness of breath, immediately seek medical attention.
