Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- This Wednesday, March 4, Jumapam will carry out two major maintenance works on the potable water infrastructure, which will cause a decrease in the supply of the resource throughout the city.

The recommendation is to take precautions to avoid being affected in daily activities, as well as not to carry out work that involves the use of water since there will be less water than normal in the distribution networks.

The Operations Manager of Jumapam, Luis Gerardo Núñez Gutiérrez, explained that it is scheduled to maintain the Lock-Join driving line, at the height of the town of Gavilanes, so the flow will be suspended for a few hours.

“It is going to make a small repair, inspection type, that we already had time wanting to do and is going to put a clamp of 240 to the line of 36 inches, a Lock-Join that is 80 years old and is an approximate work between 6 and 7 hours, ”he explained.

And taking advantage of this period of time that the pipeline will be out of service is that it will be used to maintain one of the pumps of the Los Horcones Water Treatment Plant.

“Instead of stopping twice, to do each of the jobs, we are going to do both at the same time and work as soon as possible so that the population is minimized,” he added.

Under normal conditions, the city receives 2 thousand 60 liters per second of drinking water, during the period of time that the works last there will be only two-thirds of this amount.
