Topolobampo is a port in the Gulf of California, located in the municipality of Ahome in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.

The port links the region with other states in northern Mexico thanks to the Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad (CHEPE), which passenger terminal is located in the neighboring municipality of Ahome, 23.9 km from Los Mochis.

In this port you can also find the ferry terminal, that connects the north of Sinaloa with La Paz, capital of Baja California Sur.

Two decades after the Mexican Revolution (1910-1921), in the forties it would be conditioned with appropriate facilities and in 1991 it was inaugurated as a Port with a modern infrastructure, facilities for handling containers, agricultural and mineral bulk, in addition to the necessary adjustments to receive large ships.

Topolobampo became one of the most important ports in the Mexican Pacific, and an entrance to the Sea of ​​Cortez, due to its importance as a cargo destination and transfer terminal to La Paz, in Baja California Sur.

The coasts of Sinaloa are full of hills and valleys that create beautiful beaches of fine sand, such as Santa María beach, formed entirely by dunes, which flat geography beaches such as Maviri, one of the most popular destinations in Topolobampo, offers a grotto where thousands of bats nest, and has a beach several meters wide, where visitors can go horseback riding or ride on an ATV.

In the port of Topolobampo, the old railway station is located in the center of town. The original marquee and steel plate indicates the route: “Ojinaga-Topolobampo”. This historic building is still standing in the same port.
