Twenty young people who left China before the health emergency were not applied a protocol in the AICM to rule out risks. “They didn’t even ask where we came from,” says one
hile countries around the world have reinforced sanitary measures at their airports against the coronavirus, Mexico has an open door to the epidemic.
A group of 18 Guanajuato students arrived in the country from South Korea. However, when they arrived at the AICM, they did not review it to rule out infections.
Among them is Luis Enrique González Herrera and nine of his classmates who study at Xidian University, located in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province.
The 18-year-old narrated to Excélsior that, to flee the virus, they traveled to Seoul. There they stopped 10 hours before flying to Mexico City, where they spent an hour and took another plane to León.
In Korea they made me some temperature filters. They got a little more intense because we were coming from China, so they had more precautions. We arrived at the airport of (Mexico City) and they did nothing to us; no filters or asked where we came from, ”he told this newspaper.
I expected an important filter, as they came from Southeast Asia, hit by the outbreak. “It seemed strange and a little irresponsible. Put that we were not infected, but maybe someone else was, ”he said.
Meanwhile, ten Mexicans in Wuhan were taken from China with the support of the French government, the Foreign Ministry said. Without providing names, he indicated that it is all the people in that city who, until that moment, requested help to leave.
THERE ARE NO SANITARY PROTOCOLS IN THE AICM
At least 20 Mexicans who fled from China – the birthplace of the coronavirus – arrived at Mexico City International Airport without having been reviewed by the health authorities, since until yesterday there was no filter or protocol.
It should be noted that the 20 Mexicans were somewhere in China; However, two countrymen who left that country to Japan and later to Mexico City, denounced that they only made the migration process to prove their nationality and were not reviewed by doctors.
Meanwhile, the other 18 nationals left China for Korea last Thursday and arrived yesterday in Mexico City, where they were not examined by doctors. Later they were transferred on another flight to Guanajuato, where they were questioned by medical personnel.
In all cases, Mexicans say that when they left China, authorities asked them if they had any symptoms of the coronavirus.
TOP 18 TO GUANAJUATO
With faces of happiness, 18 students from Guanajuato returned to their homes. Received by their families, the natives of the municipalities of Celaya, León, San Francisco del Rincón and Ocampo fled China because of the threat of contagion of coronavirus.
The young people were repatriated by the government of Guanajuato, which from the treasury paid for the flights of the scholarship students by the Institute for Financing and Information for Education (Educafin).
Dozens of friends and relatives of the students were waiting at the Bajio International Airport, whose flight arrived at around 2:30 pm yesterday, from Mexico City. This is the first group of people who return to Guanajuato from the Asian country. State authorities said they had identified 150 Guanajuatons in China, but only 52 considered it prudent to get out of there.
Luis Enrique González, a repatriated student, said that, despite running away from the epidemic, on his scale at the AICM he did not have to go through any filter to rule out being a carrier.
In Korea they made me some temperature filters … there they got a little more intense because we came from China, so they had more precautions. We arrived at the airport of (Mexico City) and there they did nothing to us, no filters or asked where we came from, ”he said in an interview with Excelsior.
I expected an important filter or something big. We came from Korea, but that does not have to say that there is no filter, and I found it strange and a little irresponsible, put that we were not infected, but maybe someone else was, ”he said.
Upon arrival at the Bajío International Airport, the staff of the State Health Secretariat took the data of the ten students and checked their physical condition to finally let them go with their families, with the recommendation not to leave home in 15 days and take extreme precautions. In this isolation time, they will remain under direct dependence monitoring.
For its part, the head of the State Department of Epidemiology of Guanajuato, Fatima Melchor Márquez, ruled out that any of the 18 students have any symptoms of the disease, they were even checked before leaving China, and then, on their way, first in Seoul, Corea.
Nobody comes with respiratory symptoms, they haven’t even had contact with sick people during their stay in China. ”
He said that all students lived in cities far away from the main point of infection, that is, Wuhan.
He explained that the pandemic virus incubates for 7 days before its symptoms appear, so the Ministry of Health ordered that the 18 young people stay in their homes and without leaving for 14 days, that is, twice the time in which the disease occurs.
He added that family members have been trained to observe their children.
In China, 62 Guanajuato study.
CDMX AIRPORT DOES NOT PERFORM REVISIONS
On the other hand, two other young people who arrived and stayed in Mexico City indicated that the only health protocol carried out by the government of China to leave their country was an interrogation on whether they had any symptoms that could be indicative of the disease, which, in each case, the Mexicans said it was negative.
Contrary to their arrival in our country, where they only made the migration process to prove Mexican nationality and left without being reviewed by a doctor in the sector, so that until now health authorities have not implemented protocols to prevent the coronavirus enters the country.
