One out of three tourists in Puerto Vallarta belong to the LGBT community.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, has been listed as the most gay city in Mexico, as one in every three tourists belong to the LGBT community.
Puerto Vallarta.- 34% of visitors who arrive in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy this tourist destination belong to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) community and it is also considered the gayest city in Mexico by the English magazine The Gay UK.
Héctor Ramírez Betancourt, leader of the LGBT collective in Puerto Vallarta, explained that in a recent study, carried out by the organization known as “Pride Vallarta”, it showed that 34% of tourists in Puerto Vallarta belong to the LGBT community.
Ramírez Betancourt added that the great influx of LGBT tourism is due to the fact that there is less and less discrimination and more inclusion in this tourist destination.
“The local police are trained in the matter, to avoid human rights violations as much as possible. Puerto Vallarta applies the Regulation to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination in the whole Municipality” Ramírez Betancourt concluded.
