Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The change of date of the traditional Motorcycle Week in Mazatlan will not have direct repercussions on tourism, according to José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association.

The hotel said that, on the contrary, this will benefit, since now there will be a week of high influx of visitors.

He pointed out that reservations are expected in hotels of up to 100 percent, both for Motorcycle Week and Easter Week.

He added that there have already been reservations for this event but he did not hesitate to be rescheduled, because until today no cancellations have been made.

“The type of tourist we are going to see during Easter Week is going to be different, more familiar, and on the new date we will see the motorcyclists again.”

“I suppose that many have already booked, there will be those who look for a change of date, but in the end people will go following the event,” said Manguart Sánchez.

Moto week will be changed from April to May

Motorcycle Week 2020 could be from May 7 to 10 and that of 2021 would be from May 6 to 9.

After the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, ratified that the Legendary Motorcycle Week 2020 will not be during Easter Week as it had been celebrating for years, the Qué Pasa team in Mazatlan conducted a Facebook survey in which more than 5,000 people participated.

In this survey the general public was asked if it was in favor or against the departure of this great Easter Week event, so 51 percent voted against this change, while 49 percent supported the decision taken by the first mayor.

This survey was even to such a degree that for less than 10 votes he leaned against this change, leaving several comments from the public giving his opinion.
