This disease has three stages: primary, secondary and tertiary; In the first one there is a small open sore or painless sore on the genitals, mouth, skin or rectum that heals on its own in three to six weeks.

The second stage, which begins four to eight weeks after primary syphilis, can cause a rash, usually on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, fever, hair loss, vision changes, muscle, and joint pain. , among others.

Only in people who do not receive treatment tertiary syphilis develops, where the symptoms depend on which organs have been affected, some effects can be damage to the heart that causes aneurysms or valvulopathy, disorders of the central nervous system and tumors in the skin, bones or liver.

Although information from the medical library indicates that syphilis can be treated with antibiotics, this sexually transmitted disease can spread very quickly between the primary and secondary stages.
