Construction of new water treatment plant in Puerto Chale, La Paz Baja California Sur

The work will benefit more than 400 inhabitants of the municipality of La Paz, said the Technical Director of the Organization

La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). The Municipal Operating Agency of the Water, Sewerage and Sanitation System of La Paz (Oomsapas) announced the construction of a water treatment plant in Puerto Chale; It will have an investment of 5.3 million pesos, he said. 

The plant will be carried out to meet the needs of the inhabitants of the area in terms of drinking water supply, informed the technical director of the Agency, Eduardo Peña Gallardo

It will be the first sustainable plant, will be operated with clean energy, with a photovoltaic system, and will be able to produce 80 cubic meters per day, approximately, he explained. 

The work will benefit 419 inhabitants and will be carried out as part of the Municipal Social Infrastructure Fund (FISM) program for the fiscal year 2019, Peña Gallardo added. 

For his part, the Technical Director of Oomsapas La Paz explained that the existing plant is in a deplorable condition, completely obsolete and damaged, with more than 10 years out of service. 

The new plant will be located where the old one is located, which will be of great benefit to the community in Puerto Chale, while reducing the cost of operation derived from fuels.
