Mazatlan.- More than 40 thousand tourists will be staying in a hotel room in the city while they receive the new year, said Julio Birrueta, director of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies.
Thus, he explained that the number of visitors at the destination will be greater, as this figure only refers to guests.
Occupancy for the last days of the year remains close to 100 percent, he said.
“From 27 to 31 (December) there are practically full hotels, what they lack is going to be filled; we are talking about an estimated 40 thousand tourists in hotels, ”he said.
The director of the AHyET pointed out that the month of December has presented a positive behavior in terms of the arrival of visitors and said that during the year Mazatlan remained with levels of up to 65 percent overall in terms of hotel occupancy.
