Mazatlan will close the year with a hotel occupation of almost 80%

The goal for next year is to strengthen the carter, groups, and conventions domestic market and attract more flights: Carlos Berdegué

Mazatlan, Sininaloa. Mazatlan will have a year-end closing with 100% occupancy with the arrival of national and foreign tourism; confirmed the vice president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies,

Carlos Berdegué Sacristán.

He said that according to their numbers, the destination will be closing with an average occupation of almost 80%, and they still have areas of opportunity in months such as September, October, and November.

The end of the year looks strong because now we are joined by the United States, Canada, that we have more flights and that they are arriving with high occupations, and we have the highway, and 2019 will be for a long time a year that equals 2008

In addition, he pointed out that by 2020 the challenge will be to get more seats from the United States since this year only an increase of 8% and 45% of Canada was achieved, so the promotional tours in the foreign market will be advanced.

Berdegué Sacristán revealed that the governor, Quirino Ordaz, and the secretary of Tourism, Oscar Pérez, asked them to start promotion campaigns to generate the flows for next year at the latest in February and March, and they will be strengthening the national market carter.

We will not have a problem to be able to generate more flights with Canada, but the challenge is to convince existing airlines to get more frequencies, but especially to bring those that are already flying to Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta and that are not arriving to Mazatlan, those are the ones we are going to visit in February and March.
